Dr. Miller: Atlanta Top Doctor for 17th Straight Year
Scott D. Miller, MD, MBA, has been designated as one of Atlanta’s 2025 Top Doctors by Atlanta Magazine. Top Doctors are chosen by a vote of their peers. This is the 17th consecutive year that Dr. Miller has received the honor.
Dr. Miller serves as Medical Director of Wellstar Urology, a 25-physician practice and as Director of Wellstar Robotic Surgical Services. He sees patient at Wellstar Urology in Roswell and Wellstar Avalon Health Park in Alpharetta.
As the first urologist to perform laparoscopic and robotic surgery in Georgia, Dr. Miller has one of the largest, most diverse experiences with these procedures in the Southeast. Today he is one of just a few private practice physicians nationwide with extensive experience on the newest generation of surgical robots, Intuitive’s da Vinci SP Robotic System. He is recognized as a national leader in robotic surgery and has performed well over 3,000 robotic surgeries.
Dr. Miller provides education to other physicians through peer-reviewed journal and book chapter publications, hands-on teaching, and scientific presentations. He is interviewed regularly by local and national media including Men’s Health, WebMD, Forbes Health, Parade, GQ and CNN.
“It’s a great compliment to be voted a top urologist in Georgia,” Dr. Miller said. “Hopefully, this award can help to create more awareness about the men’s health issues that I care so deeply about. It is a long-time goal of mine to bring greater awareness to prostate cancer, which is the second-most common cancer among American men.” He has been helping patients fight prostate cancer since he became a physician. In 2009, Dr. Miller founded ProstAware, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, to generate increased awareness about the disease and to empower men to take control of their health.
A graduate of the Medical College of Georgia, Dr. Miller completed his urologic residency at the University of Kentucky Medical Center and his residency program was one of the first globally to introduce advanced urologic laparoscopy techniques. Dr. Miller is board-certified by the American Board of Urology and he is an active member of the American Urological Association, the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons and the Endourological Society.
